Hospital Days

Our hospital days were filled with visitors and lots of love.
Amelia could not wait to get her hands on Della Ivy.  She told us before she was born that if we went to the hospital during the day somebody better come get her from school.  She said she had not missed any days and she would be missing for Della Ivy’s arrival.

Wesley got his hands on her.  Davis was in the waiting room so Chet and I went out to visit with him a minute.

Papa Tim – Several people have told us she has some of his characteristics.  She definitely got the complexion of the Nelsons.

Uncle Tyler wasn’t quite sure what to do with her.

Moma got lots of loving. She spent the majority of time in the room with us.  She did become jaundice so she had to spend time on the light.
These pictures were the morning after she was born.

We went in on Monday night and she was born late Tuesday night.  We came home on that Friday.
And one more just because I couldn’t resist. This is just too sweet. Those hands.

Right after she was born.
We went in on Monday night, February 24 to start the delivery. The first medicine was given at 10:00. My water broke at 11:30. Dr. Patterson came in around 8:00 am and I was only dilated between 1 and 2. I did get the epidural right after she checked me because contractions were pretty strong. She thought we would have a baby by mid afternoon. However, that was not the case. I did dilate to 8-9 and we started pushing around 8:00 with no luck. She decided to try the vacuum and see if we could get her out. Her head was hitting my pelvic bone with the way she was turned. That didn’t work either. We headed to surgery for c-section. She even had a difficult time getting her out because the way she was turned and her position. She was born with a good bit of bruising on her face and head. She had a pretty large skinned place on her left side of head. It looked like a carpet burn. There was swelling on the back of her head with several fluid filled spots. It was a long day of delivery.

Just a few anxious folks. My Mom wouldn’t sit still long enough to catch her.

Two of my biggest fans.

My Aunt sent me this pic and said Chet was talking to her. He told her he had waited a long time for her. (I guess almost 10 years was a long time.)

When I got back to the room. By this point we had been up for about 36 hours with very little sleep.

When they brought her to room. I had gotten to see her just a few minutes in recovery after surgery. They brought her to the room around 1:00 am.

Here Comes Peter Cottontail

Lunch and egg hunt at our house after church.  I must add that Chet and I have been blessed to find a place at FBC Baldwyn.  We love it.

The bunny stopped at our house for our niece and nephews.

Egg hunt before lunch trying to beat the rain.

Hastin

Eli was just concerned with what was inside the eggs.

Amelia helping little brother, Davis.  She thought she was too old to hunt so she had to help Chet hide them.

Checking out his prizes.

Attempt at getting all 4 kiddos to look at the same time.  Best job we could do.  And, Eli had already come out of his Sunday best.

Trying to escape.

We had a great day filled with family.

Where Have I Been?

Let’s just say it has been a crazy year.

We have gone from this:

to this:

And from this:

To this:

Yep.  We have been extremely busy.  Not to mention Chet was out of town for at least 6 months last year for training, and I spent a month in Kentucky catering for a movie set.  We had lots of help from family.

We also hosted our first wedding at the house in the mix.

I will do a more detailed post on our projects soon and some pics from the wedding.  It turned out very pretty.

That’s all for now.  I hear the nail gun and saw going.  Bathroom renovation is underway.

I Promise - I Will Be Back

I have just been going through pictures and downloading to my computer from the camera.  Needless to say it hasn't been done in forever.  So, I will be doing some old posts.

Happy, Happy Birthday Aunt Janet!

Happy Birthday to my second Mama. I don't know what I would do without you.

I share the good, bad, and ugly with you. I always know you express your most honest opinion even if it is not what I want to hear.

You are kind and thoughtful and always willing to help.

Happy Birthday! I hope you have a great day. Chet and I love you.

Am I Crazy or What?

So am I? I never thought that I would be a blogger. Coming from someone who just within the past year upgraded to a phone that had a camera on it, I never thought I would actually be blogging. (And I sure do not know how I ever made it without receiving email on my phone.) It's just so convenient.

So, here I am. This is going to be more like a journal to me. In years to come I can go back and read about things that were important at the time. It will be a journey to see how things change over time, how thoughts and ideas evolve, and where the journeys of life lead us.

Welcome. Let me know if you are reading and what you think.
